Description from the creator

Have you ever come across a complicated etch-a-sketch piece and you find yourself wondering: how the heck did someone do that? In this ‘how to’ video I’ll be taking you through my personal process on how I draw a portrait on an etch-a-sketch, hopefully answering some of your questions in the process!

At 1:10, I start to talk about how long I’ve been making these portraits while I show a quick Montage of all of the portraits I’ve done. (Good and bad 😬)

At 1:16, I talk about what inspired me to start making these portraits again! (Fan art is so valid and such an inspirational tool!!)

At 1:38, I talk a little about my second to most recent portrait of Robin Lord Taylor. (Any Gotham Fans out there?)

At 2:35, I talk about the way etch-a-sketches work. The little gizmos inside and how those etchings are made.

At 3:13, I talk about how to properly erase an etch-a-sketch. (It’s easy, but I always did it wrong 😭😂)

At 4:40, I talk about my first portrait and the mistakes I made. That leads into me talking about how I’ve learned from those mistakes and what I do now! (Careful with those shadows!!)

At 7:02, I say thank you so much for watching! Also another shameless plug! Follow me on instagram @abstractrea1ist!!

At 7:32, I start going through a timelapsed process video (with commentary) of my portrait process, using Youtuber Andrea Russett as reference!

At: 14:25, I give my last, closing regards!

Sorry about the choppiness and scattered thoughts in this video! I hope to make more videos in the future so that I can progressively get better at making them!! Hopefully this video helped anyways though! Leave a comment if you have any unanswered questions and I’ll make a response video soon where I answer them!

Just wanted to take a quick second to say thank you so much for 100 subscribers!! I would never have imagined to get so much feedback from my silly little videos!! Thank you to my subscribers new and old and I hope you continue to watch!!

You can find me anywhere at @abstractrea1ist!! Thank you for reading and watching and I hope you enjoy(ed)!! 💖💖💖💖💖
