How to feed a Sourdough Starter (The Easy Way)
ChannelWEIRD WILD PIZZADescription from the creator
Making a starter is crucial to this step, so if you haven’t made a sourdough starter yet, go do that first. Now that you got your little starter you need to know what the heck to do with it, so you can keep it alive. No problem, the answer is here.
Follow this how-to feed a sourdough starter guide and you can raise a happy, healthy little sourdough starter for as long as you want to keep it around, and it will only get better with age! These starters can live on through generations, maybe one of the weirdest gifts you can receive from your family but using a hundred year old starter would be pretty damn wild!
There are two main ways to keep your starter, in the fridge or on the counter. You can keep it in the fridge and take it out once a week to feed, or if you want to use your starter on the regular, then you can keep it on the counter, but you will need to feed it daily if you choose this method.

HOW-TO FEED A SOURDOUGH STARTER
Ingredients:
50 grams (1/4 cup) SOURDOUGH STARTER
50 grams (1/3 cup) FLOUR
50 grams (1/4 cup) WATER
Instructions:
1). Bring Sourdough Starter to room temperature by removing from the fridge and leaving on the counter for about 1 hour.
2). Feed the starter twice a day, approximately 12 hours apart, discarding excess starter when necessary to ensure that you only have 50 grams (1/4 cup) of starter when you feed.
3). Add 50 grams (1/4 cup) of water and 50 grams (1/3 cup) of flour to your 50 grams (1/4 cup) of Sourdough Starter. Mix well.
4). That's it! Your Sourdough Starter is fed. You can use some of it to cook with or put it back in the fridge for another week before you have to feed again.
5). If you want to leave it out on your counter then you will have to feed twice a day.
