Description from the creator

Instructions - howtofilefordivorce.org/how-to-file-for-divorce…

STEP 1 - Download Texas Divorce Papers - howtofilefordivorce.org/divorce-papers-texas.htm

STEP 2 - The Spouse that has decided to file for divorce must complete and file a Texas Divorce Petition. Pay the filing fee of $260 (check with your county as most are $260). Also, tell the clerk that your other spouse will complete a Waiver of Citation.

STEP 3 - After filing, you must send a copy of your filed Divorce Petition as well as the Waiver of Citation original (and one copy).
The non-filing spouse then needs to have the Waiver of Citation notarized and filed with the clerk.

STEP 4 - Both parties should meet and fill out the Final Decree of Divorce as well as the following attachments that apply to you:
Exhibit Medical Child Support Order
Exhibit Conservatorship
Exhibit Rights and Duties
Exhibit Possession and Access Order
Exhibit Child Support Order
Exhibit Required Information
Employer's Order to Withhold From Earnings For Child Support

*If you have children, after you have agreed on the terms of the Divorce Decree you will have have to attend parental divorce education classes. Contact the clerk for the qualified classes in your area and when completed you will be given a certificate.

STEP 5 - After 60 days from the time you originally filed the petition with the clerk, you are eligible to schedule a court hearing date. You can do this by filling out and filing the Notice of Oral Hearing with the Order Setting Hearing Date which will be sent to the other Spouse by the Court to notify him or her of the day of the court hearing.

STEP 6 - Before attending your hearing, be sure to make 4 copies of all completed and filed forms. After successful hearing you will be required to file the Divorce Decree and (if minor children) the Employer's Order to Withhold from Earnings for Child Support. Your divorce has now been completed in the State of Texas.
