How to diagnose and repair a faulty Aqualisa Digital Shower with a noisy pump and poor water flow.

This shower would only stay on for a few minutes with poor water flow and a noisy pump. The pump was examined it turned freely with no play in the bearings, when running it would rotate erratically and overheat in a few minutes accompanied by a very loud buzzing and whining noise. Testing the resistance of the windings showed that they had failed.

A replacement pump for these digital processors is available on eBay for £70 which I bought and fitted and that fixed the problem. eBay item number: 264593667027

The total repair cost was £70 and about 2 hours of time.
