How to fold a traditional origami swan
ChannelTinygamiDescription from the creator
The traditional swan is my favorite beginner level model to teach. It's as beautiful as the crane but not nearly as challenging for a novice folder. Best viewed at 480 or 720 quality setting.
The video shows folding the swan in four sizes. The 3" or 7.62 cm square is in real time to make it easier to follow along. The smaller sizes are at x4 speed so the video wouldn't be too long:
1.5" or 3.81 cm (2:58)
3/4" or 1.90 cm (3:43)
1/2" or 1.27 cm (4:12)
I hope you have fun folding them! Even the tiniest sizes are possible for most people.
I've also created free, downloadable, PDF diagrams of this pattern that are available on my Patreon page at: patreon.com/posts/34762980

The transition from our old normals to our new normal will be harder on some than others. While recluses and introverts may bask in the social distancing now needed to halt the spread of Covid, I know isolation and boredom will be a hardship for many.
To help combat that I’m pledging to make a beginner level, origami, video tutorial every day for the next two weeks. It may be the introduction to a new, fun, portable, low cost hobby for some of you.
I kicked off the series yesterday with this traditional swan. Once you master it in a large size try going smaller.
I’ll make a video tomorrow about how to cut paper into perfect squares 🤔 Today’s will be how to fold a fish.
ETA: You can subscribe to the Youtube channel to be able to easily collect all of them in once place. If people really like this I may make more than 14.
