Description from the creator

Hosting guests can be stressful - and you might think that furnishing a guest room is expensive. Peyton Lambton shares how easy an inexpensive it can be to create a comfortable space to show guests how much you care - and keep them out of your hair. Peyton’s family only hosts guests a few times a year – so there’s no reason to spend a bunch of money on really pricey furniture. Instead of a big, bulky bed, this beautiful headboard is going to do the trick and save some cash. The upholstered back is comfortable and looks totally high end. If there isn’t enough space for a full or queen bed, try a flexible option like a sofa, murphy, or day bed. One thing Peyton likes to do is create a nook with a cozy accent chair - this is the perfect place for you or your guests to relax or set up a workstation. An arched floor lamp and this clever table make the most of a little bit of floor space, just slide them into place. This TV stand has a built-in fireplace and plenty of storage, so the room feels so cozy and stays clutter-free. It really feels like a retreat in here. Talk about a warm welcome! Peyton also likes to add local magazines and menus to the cubbies so friends and family can get a taste of local offerings - just like a hotel. This room doesn’t have space for a big dresser, but she still likes to give friends a place to tuck their belongings away, so they aren’t living out of a suitcase. This three-drawer nightstand offers plenty of storage for short-term guests, and the pull-out tray is big enough for a laptop. Here’s a fun way to share the wifi password and any important numbers or info. Just use a chalkboard with the password and phone numbers. Leave a few extra towels, blankets, and toiletries, too. Here’s the secret: the more your guests can find themselves, the less they’ll have to bother you. Keep a folding luggage rack in the guest room for suitcases - plus you can use it when you pack for trips. Something we often overlook in guest rooms is having enough lighting. This motion light is a cool grown-up version of a night light and perfect for guests who aren’t super familiar with your home. Even if you just incorporate a few of these ideas, it’ll make hosting guests a snap and leave a great impression. Now, be our guest and find these ideas at Wayfair.com! Thanks for watching!
