How to Gain Alternate Picking Speed Instantly! (Picking Hand)

Over the last year - every time I've uploaded a video to YouTube or Instagram, I get messages and comments regarding alternate picking - Particularly picking hand speed and breaking through plateaus.

I'm sharing this particular exercise because it's solely for picking hand speed, and it yields pretty much INSTANT results.

For this exercise, you will use the FULL exercise (as demonstrated at 200bpm in this video) across all of YOUR particular speeds. I have used these particular speeds, as it is pretty much what I do when I apply this exercise, but your own speeds may differ, and therefor you will need to customise the speeds relevant to your own 'comfort zone'.

As I also believe percentages work very will with anything performance based, using that same range (5-10%) in your own practice routine should work fine. I used these particular speeds as, 200 is a nice round number to demonstrate each increment of speed, so this may differ for you.

I would personally begin this exercise by using 5% increases in speed much like I have in this demonstration, no matter what your current picking speed is at the moment.

PLEASE TAKE SUFFICIENT REST! I would recommend not doing this every single day, especially for long periods of time. Doing so may even hinder your progress. I wouldn't do this for more than 2 days in a row, and only a few times (Ascending and Descending) per day.

The 2nd part to this, will be produced shortly. This will be how to improve the fretting hand, and then how to comfortably merge and synchronise the gains in speed you have achieved, and to ensure your accuracy is maintained.

Make sure to leave a like and subscribe if this helped you, and good luck with all of your goals!
