Description from the creator

Music producer and musical director Stephan Oberhoff shares his studio secrets in this fun and informative series of music & technology videos.

In this short episode, learn how to dial in a beautiful tone from your instrument WITHOUT THE NEED FOR A PHYSICAL AMP !
Grab this amp emulation setting which is especially designed by Stephan for humbucking pickup jazz guitars. (It might actually work for a whole variety of pickup configurations - just try them all out!)

Drawing from decades of studio experience, Stephan is convinced that the tide has turned and amplifier plug-ins have become true equals to having an actual amp set up and carefully miked in the studio.

For example, it is very difficult to get the right distortion (if desired) from plugins - but the Gray Compressor (by AVID) changed the inherent metallic grit of the GTR plugin into a mellow, yet defined and commanding jazz lead sound - with some attitude!

If you do not care for distortion, you can just turn the DRIVE knob down on the GTR and you will get an equally nice sound but without any grit and aggressive bite.

See the settings in a nice big clear picture here (and browse around while you're on Stephan's site!)
