How to Grow Amaranth
ChannelGreenhornGardeningDescription from the creator
A follower on Twitter asked for a few tips on growing amaranth. Amaranth is often touted as the be-all-end-all vegetable for your garden. The leaves make for good salads, stir-fry and sandwiches. The flower produces a pseudograin that can be ground into flour, popped like pop corn or eaten like a breakfast cereal.
Amaranth can be hard to start if you sow it directly. I've found it best to start them off in seedling flats. They sprout quickly when kept at a constant moisture level.
