How to grow Barbados cherry (Acerola) from cutting
ChannelcalandofulDescription from the creator
In this video I demonstrate growing Barbados cherry from cuttings, which is a form of vegetative propagation. Plant grown through this method will produce fruit genetically identical to parent plant and will begin fruiting much earlier than if planted from seed.

Detailed Steps:
Take pencil size cuttings from a mature tree using garden clippers
Remove excess branches and leaves from wood
Additionally you can lightly scrape sections at the base of the cutting in order to expose cambium layer
Place cuttings in water (distilled water or rain water is preferable)
Alternatively cuttings can be placed directly in coco peat or potting mix
Move this to a humid and partially shaded location.
May cover with transparent plastic to increase humidity
In 3-14 days young leaves should start appearing
In about a month root development should begin, appearing as small nodules at the base of cuttings
At this point you may leave it for another 2-4 weeks enabling further root growth
Transplant in potting soil and allow to grow for 2-3 months before placing in ground
Water 2-3 times weekly with 2 gallons of water until established ( takes approximately 1-2 years)
Make use of dried grass, leaves and stones to work in tandem with dug water basin to retain soil moisture
This plant should fruit in about 2-3 years under reasonable care, fertilizer may be used to enhance growth
Note: This was done in a Tropical semi-arid climate with seasonal rainfall.
Make adjustments to plant care based on climate and local conditions.
