Hey guys,

I have something a little different for you today. With the current Coronavirus outbreak, a lot of online shops are wanting to avoid going into the post office in order to minimize contact with other people. This video shows you how I use Royal Mail Click & Drop to easily pay for my postage online and post my parcels in the post box without having to go into the post office.

What you will need:
An internet browser
Your packed orders
Weighing scales
A printer
Sticky labels or paper and tape
Possibly some scissors

For customs labels, you can scan in your signature so that you don't have to sign every label. You can also change the settings to include the date so that your customs labels are ready to go as soon as they are printed!

What's the difference between Personal/Business (OBA)/Drop & Go?
I have a personal Click & Drop account. Click and drop personal accounts are on a different system to OBA (online business account) and Drop & Go.

Can I put international post straight in the postbox too?
Yep! 🙌🏻

Can I use any postbox once I’ve paid for my labels?
Yep! 🙌🏻

Can I put tracked/signed post in the postbox?
Yep! 🙌🏻 You will receive a tracking number in C&D once you have generated your labels.

Can I get proof of postage?
Unfortunately not at this time. If you want official proof of postage you will need to print off the proof of postage form and take your parcel in to get it signed. If you choose to post your parcel in the postbox and miss out this step, you may not be able to recover costs from Royal Mail if your parcel goes missing. It is up to you whether you feel comfortable doing this or not.

How much time do I have to post the parcel?
Usually you have 1 business day to post your parcel once you've paid for shipping but due to COVID, Royal Mail have extended the time to 7 days. The date it needs to be posted should be displayed on your printed label so you can see if this changes.

How can I remove the postage price from the label?
There should be a section to do this on the Miscellaneous Settings page.

Can I remove my address from the label?
No, you need to have a return address on the label so that Royal Mail know where to send the parcel back to if it is not delivered to the end recipient. If you don't want your personal address on there then you might want to consider getting a PO Box if you don't have a business address.

What if my website isn't integrated with Click & Drop?
You can still use C&D even if your website isn't listed. You can either manually enter each address or if you have a lot of orders you can use a simple spreadsheet to upload all of the information (I used this upload method when shipping Kickstarter rewards).

What if I want to send a parcel through a different courier?
You can easily remove an order from click and drop by choosing dispatched by another courier instead of applying postage.
