Description from the creator

Start a new tradition this New Year's Eve by making a family memory jar for the year. All you need is an empty jar and a year's worth of random and meanigful things. (Stock media provided by sweetwaveaudio/pond5.com)

What you need:

1 empty jar
1 recent family photo
small piece of white card
black pen
double-sided tape

This can be your family New Year's resolution. Place an empty jar somewhere prominent and get everyone to put things in the jar throughout the year. They don't have to be significant, they can be as random as a bus ticket or a rock from the garden.

Try to remember to place significant items in there as well, so you get a mix: tickets to shows you went to see, mementos from holidays or overseas trips.

By Christmas that year, you should have a jar full of memories. Place a timely, recent photo of the family on the front of the jar and then label the jar with that year. Put it on the shelf, now start your next jar.
