Description from the creator

How to Make a Fantasy Language Starting with the Basic Building Blocks: Phonemes.

See more of these concepts in action in the Grauwelt series:

Phonemes are the basic units of sound in any language. And if you're going to make your own fantasy language, you have to start there. (Starting anywhere else is going to get you way in over your head!)

In this first video of the series we're going to build a fantasy language I've called Seidol by first defining all the possible phonemes, or sounds, that can be made in this language.

We'll go over all 23 phonemes (and 15 diphthongs; also defined in the video) with example fantasy words to get us started.

You can use these very same techniques to make up your own fantasy language in no time!

In future videos we'll also explore fantasy language scripts, symbols, and grammar.

Use these language techniques to make up your own word in Seidol and leave it in the comments. I'd love to see what you guys can come up with using these language rules!
