HOW TO MAKE A MUDSLIDE - The Ultimate Dessert Cocktail | BAR TALK & COCKTAILS

After being off work for about 4 months due to the Covid Pandemic, the first drink I made for someone when I returned back to the bar was a Mudslide. The Ultimate Dessert Cocktail. The history of the Mudslide is a little...muddy. As the story goes, the Mudslide may or may not have originated at the Wreck Bar in the Cayman Islands when a customer came in asking for a White Russian. The bar keep didn't have any milk or cream on hand so he used Irish cream instead. These days the Wreck Bar makes about 30,000 Mudslides a year! Whether it came from the Wreck Bar or not, the Mudslide has been made many different ways over the years. Heck when I was starting my bartender career, they weren't even called a Mudslide. They were called an Iron Butterfly. Today the real popular version is the Ice cream Mudslide which is almost like a cross between a Milkshake and an ice cream sundae! No matter how you make it, it's a great dessert drink and a good "go to" if you are not that big of a drinker!

MUDSLIDE

IN A BLENDER COMBINE:
1.5 OZ (45 ML) - VODKA
1.5 OZ (45 ML) - KAHLÚA
1.5 OZ (45 ML) - IRISH CREAM LIQUEUR
1 CUP - ICE

BLEND TO A SLUSHY CONSISTENCY

POUR INTO A TALL GLASS

GARNISH WITH GRATED CINNAMON AND A CHERRY

ADD A STRAW AND FILL IT WITH A SHOT OF KAHLÚA
