Description from the creator

In this video I make a 19mm flogging spanner, sometimes called a slogging spanner, flogging wrench or slogging wrench. A 19mm slogging spanner was needed for a job on site to tighten some M12 nuts on some countersunk bolts. Because of the difficulty of the job it is not possible to get a ring spanner or a socket onto the nut and so the only thing that can fit in the nut is an open ended spanner. Having searched the internet and asking a couple of tool companies it seems they do not make 19mm slogging spanners, therefore I decided to make one from an old for lift truck fork. The steel used to make fork lift truck forks is very good quality and has more carbon than normal mild steel which makes it much harder. A pair of forks was scrapped and so they were put to good use as I made a load of fox wedges for all the fitters on site plus this flogging spanner. I still have some of the fork steel left for some other projects in the future. I made this video on site and so I have not narrated at all on the video as you cannot hear it with the background noise on site. It took about two hours from start to finish making the spanner; the video has been sped up in most places to keep the video short.
