Description from the creator

Learn how to make an easy and healthy Egg in a Frame! This simple breakfast combines an egg and toast in one and takes just a few minutes to prepare.

Egg in a Frame is also known as Egg in a Hole, Egg in a Basket, or Egg in Toast. Whatever you call it, it's a fun and easy way to serve eggs for breakfast, lunch, or even a quick dinner.

For a healthier version, use whole-grain bread and cooking spray instead of white bread and butter. You can also use a griddle to make several Egg in a Frames at the same time.

This easy egg recipe is great for beginner cooks and anyone looking for a quick, simple breakfast idea. Serve it with fresh fruit or your favorite breakfast sides and enjoy!

Easy Egg in a Frame

INGREDIENTS:
1 slice bread
1 egg
Cooking spray or a little butter
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Place a glass or round cookie cutter in the center of the bread. Press down and twist to cut out the center, creating the bread frame. Save the center to toast with the bread or separately.
2. Spray a nonstick skillet with cooking spray or melt a little butter in the skillet. Heat over medium heat.
3. Place the bread frame in the skillet and cook until lightly toasted on the first side. Turn it over.
4. Crack the egg into the center of the bread.
5. Cook for a few minutes, until the bottom of the egg white is set.
6. Carefully turn the bread and egg over with a spatula, or flip it using the pan as demonstrated in the video.
7. Cook until the egg reaches your desired doneness. Reduce the heat if needed so the egg can finish cooking without over-browning the bread.
8. Transfer to a plate and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
