The bolts can fly pretty accurately and for a long distance. They are made with basic materials and are easy to make. The first type is made from a Q-tip because it is lightweight and can easily hold a needle. The second type is made with a wood skewer that can also be made to hold a needle or simply sharpened to a point. This is a fun project but if you make/use these take all of the necessary safety precautions as it can be potentially dangerous.

Materials:
- Q-Tips/Skewers

A quarrel or bolt is the arrow used in a crossbow. The name "quarrel" is derived from the French carré, meaning square, referring to the fact that they typically have square heads. Although their lengths vary, they are typically shorter than traditional arrows.

A crossbow, also known as a horizontal bow is a type of weapon based on the bow and consisting of a horizontal bow-like assembly mounted on a stock. It shoots projectiles called bolts or quarrels. The medieval crossbow was called by many names, most of which were derived from the word ballista, a torsion siege engine resembling a crossbow.
