How to make origami rabbit-or-bunny easily step-by-step complete tutorial by "REC."

You may use any kind of paper to fold the origami bunny. It is a little easier if the front and the back side of the paper are slightly different whether it be in texture or color.

Make sure the paper that you use is a square (all sides are equal and all the angles equal 90 degrees). The paper I am using here is 15cm x 15cm square origami paper with different color. I selected red color on the back side to simulate bunny rabbit's ears.

Let's start with a "balloon base" .
.what balloon base is and then learn it.
Prepare for two valley-folds.

Apply two valley-folds of the step #1.
Prepare to apply two vertical valley-folds.

Apply two vertical valley-folds of the step #2.

We will tuck the flap into the pocket.
Traditionally we tuck the flap into the pocket directly.
But it doesn't look clean. So I found a new way of closing it.

Prepare to open all left-side layers.

Open all left-side layers.
Prepare to bend the flap down.

Bend the flap down.
Prepare for a valley-fold.

Apply the valley-fold of the step #7.
Prepare to apply a mountain-fold.

Apply the mountain-fold of the step #8.
Prepare to put the flap back at the original position.

Put the flap back

Close the left side.
You have completed inserting a flap into the left pocket.
Prepare to work on the right side.

Open all right-side layers.
Prepare to bend the flap down.

Bend the flap down.
Prepare for a valley-fold.

Apply the valley-fold of the step #14.
Prepare to apply a mountain-fold.

16.

Apply the mountain-fold of the step #15.
Prepare to put the flap back at the original position.

17.

Put the flap back.

18.

Close the right side.
You have completed inserting a flap into the right pocket.
Prepare to turn the model over.

19.

Turn the model over.
Prepare to apply two valley-folds.

20.

Apply two valley-folds of the step #19.
Prepare to apply a vertical valley-fold.

21.

Prepare to blow an air into the hole while holding bunny's two ears.



22.

Blow an air into the hole while holding bunny's two ears according to the step #31.

 

You can regulate the size of bunny by controlling the amount of air blowed.
If you fill the body with full amount of air, the bunny becomes too fat.
