How to Make Rope Coil Baskets - a Makercrate Unboxing and Basket Tutorial - Part One

In this video, we unbox and use the Makercrate Rope Coil Basket Box. We are making these baskets for the very first time and they are really fun and versatile! You can make them in just about any size, so they are great for organization! If you don't have this maker crate kit, you can follow along at home with clothesline sized cotton rope, embroidery needle and floss, scissors, and some pliers to help pull your needle through any tough spots! In this video, we look through our supplies and make our very first baskets. We also show a step by step tutorial to help learn how to make these cool organization accessories! Once you get started and get the hang of it, these baskets are so easy to make! You can even add little flourishes like handles and lids! I'm pretty sure our house will be filled with coiled rope baskets pretty soon. It's a pretty good craft to do while watching tv or listening to a podcast because once you've figured it out, it doesn't require quite as much of your concentration! This is also a fun project for older kids. They might need a little help to get started, because the very center of the coil can be a little tough to sew through, but after that, they'll be off on their own, making cool baskets to hold all their stuff and maybe get themselves organized! I highly recommend that you try this super fun craft!
