Remember that most of the home remedies are irritant to the acne. They cause a post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. that is dark brown patches after the treatment is done. So when you have acne, please don’t pop it. Don’t try anything that is not recommend by your doctor, as you may create a long term problem. The acne may disappear in 4 – 6 days. But if you create a pigmentation, that may cause 6 – 8 weeks to clear out even with the best treatments. Once you have start got the pigmentation, start using the sunscreens regularly, a broad spectrum sunscreen. Or you can use a skin lightening agent which contains kojic acid at bed time, a very small quantity. Please remember that all the creams that you use for pigmentation, work by peeling the skin. So use a small quantity. Using large quantities of creams will not help the condition better, but it might lead to problems like dryness. Even after using the kojic acid creams, if it is not better, then it is better to see your dermatologist which can then see you and prescribe you if needed a chemical peel or a laser treatment to sort out the problem faster. If there is a scar developed below the pigmentation, then it will take longer time to resolve, then you will need immediate help from the dermatologist.
