You can do everything right with an excellent nutrition plan, great workouts and even weigh yourself every week. But if you don’t know if the changes on the scale are coming from increases or decreases in muscle or fat, then you can’t make the minor adjustments necessary to develop a lean and muscular body in the shortest time possible.

There are five common ways to measure body fat but measuring your body fat with calipers offers the best combination of time, cost and accuracy.

In this video I’ll show you step by step how to use to use the skinfold method with calipers to calculate your body fat percentage in less than three minutes. You can use a ruler, tape measure or different kinds of calipers to perform this method. About me (Jason): When I started working out in 2003, I was 6 feet tall and 137 pounds. I was about to begin a career in business and just wanted to fill out my clothes and be strong and confident. Eventually I built more than 45 pounds of natural muscle and learned how much I loved the science of fitness and building muscle.

I was certified as a personal trainer by ACSM in 2010 but continued to work in finance. It wasn’t until I injured my shoulder in 2018 and lost 28 pounds of muscle that I decided to create this channel to track my progress as I return to the gym to rebuild muscle and help as many people as possible realize that there’s a simple formula for building muscle and as a beginner you have a huge advantage.
