HOW TO NEGOTIATE: I saved $500 PER MONTH in Rent...here's how

I saved almost $500 per month in rent and I live in a high rise apartment downtown Chicago in North Loop, 2 minutes walking from the river. My apartment has floor to ceiling windows, ac/heat, in-unit washer and dryer, pool, and in-door garage for my car just to name a few amenities. Before I moved to Chicago, I negotiated my rent from over $2k to right at $1.7k in the course of 1 day and here is how I did it. Hopefully by the end of this video, you will be able to negotiate your rent down just like I did.

Tips Summary:
1. Be Prepared: gather information to prove your case & provide fact based quantifiable data to support your argument.
2. Have a exact number in mind: Be very clear with what you are asking for and use the information you gathered to support your why to wanting this number
3. It's not all about you: Learn their Compelling reason to act (Compelling reason to act means their why. If you understand their why, then it’ll be easier to get on the others persons side that you are negotiating with and in result you will be more obligated to find something that works for both parties.)
4. Don't lie: Don’t lie to take advantage of people because you wouldn’t want to be taken advantage of.
5. Have an end all: Be willing to walk away from the deal. Rome was not built in a day, sometimes it may take longer than expected to close a deal and sometimes you have to be willing to walk away to get what you want.
