How to Paint a Laminate Surface

It’s easy to paint over a laminate surface and give an old piece of furniture some new life. This video will outline the steps you need to take to prepare the surface to ensure a high-quality and seamless finish. In addition, a step by step guide will be given on how to paint the laminate surface.


What you need:
- Filler
- Sanding block
- Cloth
- Tile and laminate cleaner
- Tile and laminate primer
- Paint brush
- Laminate paint
- Paint stirrer
- Turpentine

Directions:
Step 1 – Fill any cracks, indentations or nail holes
Step 2 – Allow filler time to dry and then sand the entire surface smooth
Step 3 – Wipe down with a damp cloth and then spray with laminate and tile cleaner
Step 4 – Rinse with clean water and then leave to dry
Step 5 – Paint on the tile and laminate primer in an even coating and then leave to dry for four hours
Step 6 – Apply laminate paint to the surface in even strokes
Step 7 – Sand down, wash with water then leave to dry
Step 8 – Apply second coat of laminate paint
Step 9 – Wash brush with mineral turpentine
