How to Paint MDF edges - without special sealers

This is about how to get smooth edges on MDF without special paints or sealers, just sanding & using primer, then top coat to get a professional finish.
The key is sanding, this is the best & easiest way.
Sand the MDF smooth with 120g sandpaper,
Apply one coat of primer, this will make the edges go prickly,
Sand smooth again when dry with 120g, don't worry that your sanding the paint off, some of the paint will have soaked in & 'prepared' the wood,
Apply a 2nd coat of primer, this will go on better but may still leave a slighlty prickly surface,
Sand smooth with 320g paper,
Apply a 3rd coat of primer, sand this coat with 320g before starting top coat,
Sand top coats with 320g between each coat,
