How to prove yourself as a consultant

In 2019 we surveyed 156 CEOs to figure out their priorities, challenges, and what they look for when it comes to outside consultants. The findings may surprise you

One of the biggest challenges we found CEOs have is that they often don’t feel value from a consultant, citing the fact that they’re too expensive and that it’s hard to predict value and ROI. In other words, the value and the return aren’t there.

To find out more about this problem, we interview Tom Riggs of Mindwire. He’s a consultant whose clients have consistently said they found value in his company’s assistance. What’s the secret?

A lot of it boils down to measuring success metrics, even with the more intangible types of consulting such as the human capital space.

“In the human capital space, if you can deliver an ability to tell them where they are and what would move the needle the fastest - that’s a whole different conversation than they’ve ever had before,” says Riggs.
