Description from the creator

Knowing how to read x-rays is a fundamental concept all medical students interested in going into orthopedics must learn. Learning to read, interpret and convey what the x-rays shows is a concept you must know how to do prior to your orthopedic rotations. This video goes over the basic conversation you are going to have when reading an x-ray. The basic template when reading an x-ray aloud is this;
First, ask whether the fracture is open or closed and if the patient is neurovascularly intact, next;
1. State the views
2. State the side and anatomic structure is in the film
3. Skeletal maturity
4. The pathology (using the RADS mnemonic)

We go over this template and awesome real world, high yield examples in this video!

Hope you all enjoy. And again, if you have any questions for us about the video or in general you can contact us at [email protected]
