How to RECORD AUDIO FOR FREE on the INTERNET and COMPUTER for WINDOWS 10 Using Audacity 2017

For those having trouble getting stereo mix, here is a comment from a board forum that may be helpful to you:

Well, I just chose "Update Driver" and did the automatic one suggested for the Conexant Driver, and restarted my computer.  When I logged back on, Stereo Mix was disabled (but still there).  I opened Audacity after enabling stereo mix, and like magic, it worked.  Not sure how or why, but all of a sudden, now it's working.  Thanks.

Welcome to this computer tutorial on how to record audio or sound on your computer with Windows 10 for Free!
Maybe you have audio on the internet that you want to record, like some video you posted but you need a better system than sticking a microphone up to your computer. Fortunately it takes a real short time when you download Audacity and enable Stereo mix on your computer. This is a method that has been in use for a while, but doing it on Windows 10 has been a little confusing as the way how the operating system is set up with the control panel makes it a little hard to find stereo mix. It's actually not that difficult to do on Windows 10, you just need to know what to look for.

When you do it right though, you will have a great audio recorder that you can use to record songs online, or to just use as a general computer sound recorder. Audacity is a free open source audio editing software. It's actually quite powerful when you get to know how it's used. Once you have down how to use that audio editor, you probably won't even need a reason to actually spend money on another audio editor. Although this tutorial is geared towards Windows 10, much of it is applicable to other Operating systems like Windows 7.

We plan on doing more with Audacity as far as making free computer tutorial videos. One idea for the near future is showing how to make your voice come out so clearly in your YouTube videos. Also note that this method in this YouTube video tutorial isn't just for the internet, it shows how to record ANYTHING (any audio at all) that comes through your speakers.
