How to Saute Onions
ChannelBetter Homes and GardensDescription from the creator
Sauted onions add delicious flavor to many recipes. Learn how to chop and sauté an onion so they're tender and ready to go into your favorite recipes. First, cut the onion in half through the root end, peel your onion, and lay each half cut side down. Then make cuts toward the root, but not all the way through. Turn and cut cross-wise into pieces. Add your onions to hot oil in a skillet, and cook and stir in medium to high heat until tender but not brown. Sauteed onions aren't brown but just tender and slightly mellow the flavor in a recipe. Lastly, stir your onions into a recipe.
