How to Set a Table for Lunch

A short video on how to set the table for an elegant luncheon. Setting a table is quite simple once you know the basics and luckily it is easy to learn but hard to forget. Even though the etiquette may differ some from country to country, you will easily adept when being abroad.

A nicely set table is usually an appreciated element to any occasion. Paying attention to the aesthetics can sometimes be as important as the actual meals.

Table setting is not about strict rules but rather a way to help/guide the guest(s) through the meal. The porcelain, cutlery, and glasses used indicates what will be served, and in what order. Based on the table setting in this example, one can tell that soup will be served first followed by the main course while the absence of dessert cutlery indicates there might not be dessert. White wine will be served to both dishes which can give a hint of what type of food that will be served for the main course.
