In today’s video I’m featuring a smart plug from Blitzwolf. Like most smart plugs, this one is compact with a single AC socket. The button on the side allows you to manually turn the plug on and off. And to power it on just simply plug it into a wall socket. Overall it’s nice looking and very small. The manual it comes with is really small and hard to read but lucky for you I’ll run through the set up process in this video so you won’t bug your eyes out trying to small print

The Blitzwolf smart plug works with the the Smart Life app for iOS or Android. I have other smart plugs that use this app so mine is already set up. But if you’re new to this you’ll have to set up a Smart Life account after you launch the app. And don’t worry it’s really easy to do.

This smart plug only works with 2.4GHz Wifi signals so you'll have to check your phone if you have a dual band router at home. Once the app is set up, you can control the Blitzwolf plug anywhere in the world. Just plug a lamp or other device in and control it remotely. And even though the Blitzwolf plug is small, there won’t be much room underneath it for plugs with large connectors. You'll never have to get off your couch to use your lamp.

The Smart Life app also has a convenient countdown timer to have the switch turn off after a set duration. There’s also a scheduler so that you can preset on and off times like when you’re away from home. The Blitzwolf smart plug can also be voice controlled by Alexa.

In the Alexa app for the initial setup do a search for the Smart Life skill. You’ll then need to link the Smart Life account you created with the Alexa app. If you have additional plugs, just repeat the process shown in the video to get them connected. You can get these in a 3-pack for about $35 so it’s really affordable.
