How to smock / shirr fabric like a pro with elastic thread on your sewing machine

Have you ever hear of your sewing friends talking about shirring and wanted to learn how to do it? Shirring has a similar look to smocking, but way faster. In this video I will guide you through shirring fabric with elastic thread. You can use this sewing technique in many ways. You can shirr the hem of a sleeve for an adorable ruffle detail. You can shirr the full bodice or back bodice of a top or dress pattern. You can also shirr the waistline of a top, tunic or dress for a cinched in waistline. I go over many different tips and tricks and show you the difference between different tensions and what to look for when shirring your dress or garment. I provided close up shots of what shirring should and should not look like. Come learn how to master this super fun technique using elastic thread.
