Description from the creator

In this video I show you the most common mistakes that beginners getting into electronics repair usually make when soldering with tin/lead solder and how to avoid them. I will also give you tips about how to use a soldering iron and what you should NOT do with your soldering iron. It is very simple and with practice you will get good at soldering.

These at the 6 steps I use to solder a joint correctly:

1 - Apply Flux to the solder joint. NOT too much.
2 - Clean the tip of your soldering iron each time you use it.
3 - Place HOT soldering iron on the joint to heat it up.
4 - Apply solder to the joint NOT the iron.
5 - Hold heat on joint for a few seconds or so to SEE solder wick down into the joint completely.
6 - Remove the iron from the joint and you are done. You just completely soldered your first joint.

Note: Apply a coating of fresh solder to your iron's tip just before turning it off. This way, your tip is nicely tinned when you heat it up and you'll be ready to solder right away.
