Description from the creator

It's sometimes difficult to tell the difference between two popular natural stones, Granite and Marble. This guide will help breakdown the contrasting elements them so you can easily decide which material is best for your countertop.

Granite is a grainy, igneous rock that is composed of many different minerals, whereas Marble is a metamorphic rock with a softer look, due to its high concentration of calcite. Marble is mostly available in white or pastel colors, although there are a few darker slabs available as well. Granite, on the other hand, comes in countless amounts of colors. Granite is firmer and more stain resistant, which makes it ideal for kitchen counters, bars, and fireplaces. Marble is softer and more porous, so it’s better suited in a bathroom, or around a hot tub. Finally, granite is typically speckled with many different minerals, while marble is veiny, although as we mentioned, there are some exceptions, which is why it’s important to ask a professional when you are shopping for natural stones.

Just remember, that no matter what stone you’re looking for, you are sure to find exactly what you need at Marble.com
