How to Tell if Liquid Culture Has Gone Bad

How can you tell if liquid culture is good or bad? How should it look if it is contaminated, and what does good LC look like? Liquid culture is important in growing your own mushrooms. Liquid culture should look like a fluffy, gelatonous mass floating in an otherwise clear solution. Bacterial contamination will result in an off-color, cloudy mess, sometimes with wisps of sediment at the bottom of the jar. Liquid culture is prone to contamination, so it's important to be able to tell the difference between good and bad liquid culture when growing mushrooms.
