The improved albright is a great knot for sport fishing, it allows for a wide variety of breaking strains to be used as long as the braid to nylon ratio does not exceed 2:1. E.g. 30lb braid - 60lb nylon. The only drawback of this knot with heavy leaders is that it does not cast well as the tag end faces the guides during casting.
