Description from the creator

Babies have very small tear ducts which mean their tears don't always drain effectively and this can lead to them gumming up. Sometimes a sticky eye will lead to an infection around the eyelids, conjunctiva which will look red. If you see a red, inflamed eye you need to take your baby to the doctor but if it is just sticky you can gently clean the affected eye with cooled boiled water or breastmilk and a piece of cotton wool. Be gentle, don't rub. Make sure that you don't let your water pour across the bridge of your baby's nose as it could cross contaminate and your baby could develop an infection in the other eye.
