If you’re at a friends house and they don’t have a stud finder, chances are they’ll have a magnet. If you drag a magnet across the outside surface of the drywall, the magnet will stick to a screw or nail inside the drywall. This clues you and to know that the stud is there. Can be a tremendous time savings if you’re trying to hang a picture on the wall.
