Description from the creator

Why do artists wave their pencils and thumbs about when they are drawing or painting? It's because they want their drawings to be accurate and reflect the subject they are drawing. It's a time-honoured way of getting the proportions of the thing in front of you down on the paper or canvas. If artists have been doing this for thousands of years, it just might work for you!

In this video I'll try to explain how to use a pencil and your thumb to work out proportions and angles to help you create even better drawings.Have a go yourself and see if your proportions improve!

Everyone asks about the tools I use when I'm out using my sketchbook. here's a video to show you what and how I use them.
