How to wash a wedding dress at home

*Disclaimer: some fabrics may shrink/deform/snag in the washing machine, in warm or hot water and with certain fabric conditioners. Therefore, it is best to get advice from your local dry-cleaners. For me, to avoid these issues, I washed in the bath tub, in cold water and using a liquid detergent for dedicates. The handwash detergent that I used to clean my wedding dress:
