In brief

You’ll create a gruesome, bug-infested wound effect using sculpting wax, spirit gum, and realistic blood—ideal for horror makeup or special effects. The tutorial builds on a previous part about making creepy crawlies, then shows how to embed them into wounds for a visceral look. Best for those with some SFX makeup experience.

Questions & answers

What materials are needed for the bug-infested wound?

Nose and scar wax, sculpting wax, spirit gum, petroleum jelly, sculpting tools, brushes/sponges, skin illustrator palettes, blood, and clear medical bandage.
