Description from the creator

In response to many requests, here's my piano tutorial for my version of Andante, Andante. To learn how to play the song, I'd suggest you watch the video at 0.5 or 0.25 speed. Please note that at this stage it's not possible to produce sheet music for this as it's an improvised performance.

One tip I have for playing this piece in my style is to think of your two hands as covering different instruments, or different "parts" of the song. You'll notice at the start of the first verse, my right hand fingers 1 and 2 are playing the melody, while there's another "part" going on above the melody with fingers 4 and 5. That part is slightly quieter than the melody, so that the melody rings out. Also, remember that particular parts can be played by both hands, for example, the chromatic part at 00:37 where my left hand plays A and Bflat, then the right hand takes over. If you were just playing a piano accompaniment then of course your right hand would play all of that, but since you have to think about the melody as well as the accompaniment, sometimes your hands have to "share" a particular part.

Andante, Andante was originally released as a single in 1981 and featured on ABBA's Super Trouper album. It was performed by Lily James for the soundtrack of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

If you're new to my channel, I post regular videos of my interpretations of well-known songs and pieces of music, performed by me with original interpretations on the piano. I've been playing the piano since I was 4 years old and it's one of my greatest passions.

On my channel I play regular piano covers of well known and less well known songs and pieces of music. I love playing film themes, jazz standards from the 30s and 40s, and, most of all, the music of Benny Andersson, whether it be ABBA songs or his later work from Chess, Kristina från Duvemåla, or his Benny Andersson Orkester music. Here's my ABBA piano covers playlist:

I normally play my own arrangements, but since I improvise the arrangements each time, I rarely play the same version twice. Unfortunately this means I don't have sheet music for any of my piano covers which I can share. I hope this video tutorial helps.

I'm recording everything on a Roland RD2000 stage piano, and when I remember I'll post the settings for the piano with my covers.

If you'd like to keep up with my regular piano covers, please like and subscribe. Let me know if you have any requests!
