Arpeggios: Part 2
---------------------------------------------------------------------

It's time to continue your arpeggio training. This second pattern will strengthen your dexterity and picking control. Once again, prepare to have Ben expand your musical world.

Pattern 2
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Arpeggio chord patterns replace strumming chord patterns. You pluck each note of the chord individually instead of strumming to achieve a different type of sound. This second pattern incorporates a combination of upstrokes and downstrokes (refer to the video above and the explanation below).G major picking pattern: Hold the G chord shape at the base of the neck and pick every other note from down to up alternating between downstrokes and upstrokes (down, up, down, up, etc.)C major picking pattern: Hold the C chord shape at the base of the neck and pick every other note from down to up alternating between downstrokes and upstrokes (down, up, down, up, etc.)
