How To: Build A Wood Duck House

Hello! Thank you for watching our video on How To: Build A Wood Duck House!

Just a little information on who we are and why we did this:
We are Youth outdoor from the Conservation Corps of Minnesota, out of the Hazel Crew Rec Center. Over the past 11 weeks we have completed numerous projects such as collecting prairie seeds, hauling brushes, planting trees and plugs, etc.
During our 11 week term, the youth gets to lead a service project of their own. Before we came up with the idea, we were debating on whether to do our service project on something with water or environmental education. We decided to combine both and build wood duck houses!
We raised money by holding an online silent auction. We donated and made our own items for the auction. Our original goal was to raise $150, to build and install three wood duck houses. We raised $365, built and installed four wood duck houses! We had money left over to buy the posts to install the wood duck houses, candy to put wood duck facts on, to give to people in the community, and buy wood shavings for the Phalen Stewards, who has volunteered to do yearly wood duck house check and cleaning for us! Which is awesome, and we really appreciate it. For an additional education portion, we decided to make a YouTube video, and show people how to build wood duck houses!
We hope that this video helped you in some way. Help a wood duck family out today, and build a wood duck house! :)
