How to connect laptop to studio monitors (speakers)

Update: Make sure you plug your interface directly into the laptop. I plugged it in through the hub, which is NOT advisable. Also, when using ANY usb hub, make sure you plug it into a power outlet at the same time that it's plugged into your computer so it can keep up with the load of your computer.

I show you how to connect a MacBook Pro to M-audio BX5 speakers using a scarlett audio interface. Make sure to check whether your speakers are "active" with its own internal amp or "passive". Passive speakers require a stereo amp.

Cables needed: TRS 1/4" balanced

In Ableton: click on 'Live' --'preferences'--'audio'--change 'audio input device' and 'audio output device' to [ your interface]
