How to get the most from Trombone Improvisation Savvy

This video explains the premise of Trombone Improvisation Savvy and goes through the first 17 pages that deep dive into the ear training foundation of the book.

A subscriber wrote to me stating that he was not getting the value from the book he had hoped for. He was looking for a book of chord/scale relationships and felt that the book was aimed at more advanced players who had already mastered the chord/scale relationships.

At the beginning of the video, I explain that the purpose of this book is to connect a jazz musician's musical mind or imagination to their instrument. The goal, in my method, is to eliminate the friction caused by the instrument and instead, turn it into simply an amplifier of one's musical imagination.

I shared in the beginning that users of the book are seeing results from these exercises. One recent owner of the book wrote that he can now close his eyes when improvising instead of staring at the chord symbols. Another wrote that he is hearing more within the music that ever before, and commenting that he didn't expect that.

I take the viewer "by the hand" through these first few pages and play a sample of the exercises in order to show how to best use them. I also comment throughout on how to use the audio files of the exercises for even more than their original intent.
