I am a premier highland dancer, a classical violinist, a violin teacher, and an interactive, multimedia sonic artist. When I started this channel, I posted videos on both highland dance and violin, hence the name "HighlandViolinist". But, as I progressed through university, I became more involved in music technology, interactive computer music performance (with Max MSP), and constructing new Digital Musical Instruments (DMIs) with Arduinos and sensors. As I evolved as an artist and academic researcher, so has my YouTube channel. Instead of having multiple channels for each topic, I have this one channel that has a little bit of everything that I enjoy and I have organized my videos into playlists based on the topic. If you like violin, but not technology, or like technology, but not dancing, that is ok! Please subscribe and enjoy the videos that pertain to your interests!
