King size Canopy Bed Budget friendly

Total cost excluding mattress is approximately $210.00

What you will need :

4 4x4x8

15 2x6x8

4 2x4x8

3 2x2x8

4 1x4x8

10 x 2 ½ wood screws

8 5/8 wood screws

tape measure

Door hinges or bed hardware

Miter Saw or circular saw

Kreg jig kit

Chalk finish paint and paint brush

Phillips head power tool and bit

Painter plastic

2 straps

Cut sizes:

4 4x4x8 pieces cut at “85”

4 2x6x8 pieces cut at “80” for the side rails (two on each side)

11 2x6x8 pieces cut at “76” for the head and foot boards

2 2x4x8 pieces cut at “80” for the top post

2 2x4x8 pieces cut at “76” for the top to align with posts

2 2x2x8 pieces cut at “75” for rail supports

1 2x2x8 piece cut 8 times into 8, 8 ¾ pieces for the for bottom support this length is optional depending on how tall you want your bed to be.

4 1x4x8 pieces cut at 77 ½ for bottom horizontal pieces.

If you have a QUEEN mattress that is 60inches wide x 80 inches long the dimensions will be as follows: (be sure that these are the dimensions of your mattress, I am going off the standard size of a queen mattress)

Cut List:

4 4x4x8 pieces cut at “85” (These will be for your posts, be
sure to measure how high your ceiling is because this may be too high or to low).4 2x6x8 pieces cut at “80” for the side rails (two on
each side)


11 2x6x8 pieces cut at “62” for a tight fit (or “64”
for a loose fit) for the head and foot boards

2 2x4x8 pieces cut at “80” for the top post

2 2x4x8 pieces cut at “62” for a tight fit or (“64”
for a loose fit) for the top to align with posts

2 2x2x8 pieces cut at “59” for rail supports

1 2x2x8 piece cut 8 times into 8, 8 ¾ pieces for the for bottom support this length is optional
depending on how tall you want your bed to be.

4 1x4x8 pieces cut at 63 ½ for a tight fit (or “65½”
for a loose fit) for bottom horizontal pieces.
