How to play chord-melody on piano as a 3-part system, distributing voices correctly across both hands to access the full range of chord extensions and colors.

In this video:
🎵 How to determine a song's chords by ear using the melody (scale) and the bass line -- demonstrated on "Yesterday" by Lennon and McCartney in G Major.
🎵 Why chord-melody is a 3-part system, not 2: Part 1 melody (right hand), Part 2 bass (left hand), Part 3 chord blended between both hands -- and why the 2-part approach produces a narrow, limited sound.
🎵 The piano as an orchestral instrument: sopranos in the right hand, basses in the left, baritones/tenors/altos in the middle -- correct voice distribution.
🎵 Left hand voicing formulas for triads and seventh chords: 1-5-1, 1-5-3, 1-5-b3, 1-5-maj7, 1-5-b7.
🎵 Full application of the 3-part system to "Yesterday" -- chord by chord through the verse and chorus, with chord extensions added.
🎵 How this wide voicing position gives access to all chord extensions and leaves the fingers free to create movement and rhythm.
