Still Crazy After All These Years (Paul Simon) - Piano and song cover and tutorial

In the 90's MTV Unplugged was an American television series on MTV showcasing musical artists usually playing acoustic instruments. It was interesting to see how artists arranged their most famous songs for their unplugged session.
On his own episode of MTV Unplugged (1992), Paul Simon was surrounded by excellent jazzmen such as Steve Gadd, Michael Breaker and Richard Tee (a prolific American pianist, studio musician, singer and arranger). His version of "Still Crazy After All These Years" (1975) is very interesting because there are a lot of changes between the original song and the unplugged one :
- A grand piano replaces the electric piano
- Richard Tee adds a lot of chords (on the video I put some of them in brackets, you are not obliged to play everything)
- No more violins, no more flutes. The piano is more self sufficient (even if the sax plays a great solo that I cut in my video)
- The new piano score is more groovy with a jazz and gospel style
For all these reasons I found interesting to cover Richard Tee's version.
- Singers will find a soundtrack at 2:54 to sing along. I kept the original tone (G, and then A after modulation), great for tenor singers.
- Keyboarders will find a tutorial with all the chords at 5:52. The keyboard part is interesting because there are a lot of good chords! And I even not played all of them...

Dans les années 90 MTV Unplugged était une série télévisée américaine sur MTV mettant en vedette des artistes musicaux jouant généralement des instruments acoustiques. Il était intéressant de voir comment les artistes arrangeaient leurs plus fameux titres pour leur session acoustique.
Pour son épisode de MTV Unplugged (1992), Paul Simon était entouré d'excellents jazzmen tels que Steve Gadd, Michael Breaker et Richard Tee (un prolifique pianiste américain, musicien de studio, chanteur et arrangeur). Sa version de "Still Crazy After All These Years" (1975) est très intéressante car il y a beaucoup de changements entre la chanson originale et la version unplugged :
- Un piano à queue remplace le piano électrique
- Richard Tee ajoute de nombreux accords (sur la vidéo, je mets certains d'entre eux entre parenthèses, vous n'êtes pas obligé de tout jouer)
- Violons et flûtes disparaissent. Le piano devient ainsi plus autonome (même si le sax joue un super solo absent de ma vidéo)
- La nouvelle partition de piano est plus groovy avec un style jazz et gospel
Pour toutes ces raisons, j'ai trouvé intéressant de reprendre la version de Richard Tee.
- Les chanteurs trouveront une bande-son à 2:54. J'ai conservé la tona d'origine (G, puis A après modulation), idéale pour les ténors.
- Les pianistes trouveront un tutoriel avec tous les accords à 5:52. La partie clavier est intéressante car il y a beaucoup de bons accords ! Et je ne les ai même pas tous joués...
