Description from the creator

. Fundraising with Facebook Live article: aplos.com/academy/fundraising/facebook-live-fun…

In this video, we’ll focus on Facebook Live, how it caters to the specific needs of nonprofits, and how to use it for your events.

Fundraising has been particularly difficult lately due to restrictions on public gatherings. This is why remote live platforms have become more important than ever. So let’s jump right in!

Before The Event

- Prepare your space and make sure your camera frame represents the shot you are looking for. Also, check your lighting, audio quality, and internet connection. Be sure to test it all ahead of time so it’s ready when you go live.
- Let people know about your event in advance. You can use email marketing, Social Media, word of mouth, and other ways.
- Strategize about following up with attendees. How will you nurture them?
What do you ultimately want them to DO? follow, subscribe, donate, volunteer, etc.

The Day Of The Event

- Add a description before going live. Be creative and use the keywords your audience will look for when finding your event.
- When going live don’t forget to introduce yourself several times throughout the event in case someone joined late.
- Interact with your audience through their live comments. If you have an assistant, that would be ideal so the host of the video can focus on answering questions or elaborate on people’s comments being provided to them by the assistant.

After The Event

- Execute your follow-up strategy.
- Store contact information in database.
- Contact your participants and thank them for being part of the event.
- Did you fundraise? Thank your donors for their support and give them a clear action you would like them to DO: follow, subscribe, donate, volunteer, etc.
